Just another day

Hundreds, or maybe a few thousands die in New Orleans because of hurrican Katerina (killing me softly with her winds?). Mayor of NO loses all prespective and call it “our tsunami” (it is estimated that in the tsunami in Asia 310,000 people were killed [ohhh, now I get it - they were not americans, right!]).

But Katerina’s attention is nothing compared to the largest naval disaster in history (the Titanic was a picnic, OK?). See here. And if you think this webpage is a bit bizarre, you would think it is hilarious after reading crabwalk. (Here is another webpage on the disaster.

And in Iraq, probably the location of the biblical Eden, another thousand people or so die in a stempede in a religious rally, because of a sudden rumor of a suicide bomber (considering recent history and the earlier death of seven people in the SAME rally by a rocket, not a completely redicilous rumor). The pepole killed are Shitte, and the bombers are usually the Sunnis (the roling side in the previous regime). It looks to me like a civil war in Iraq looks more unavoidable. And the US is going to be blamed for anything bad that goes on.

Interestingly enough, the Iraq stempede got minimal coverage in NPR. Somebody is entering a state of denial, wouldn’t you say?

And at least 100,000 (probably >200,000 but who counts?) people died of natural causes today, so I guess this is all noise, anyway…

And, if you are wondering whats up with this entry, well, it is about time you read my disclaimer.

The MPA (i.e., movie industry) got a general “search and seize warrant” to cover the entire city of New Delhi – probably to try and stop copying/stealing of movies. All the inhabitants of New Delhi are to be held (in small hermetic plastic bags) as evidence for the upcoming trial. See more here.

Somehow, I can not see the MPA getting the same warrant for New York city…

My son, however, showed restraint. His tone was quite polite when he inquired, “So tell me, David, is it possible that you’re of Jewish descent?” The response was ambiguous: “My dear Wilhelm, if it will give you pleasure or help you in some other way, you can send me to the gas chamber the next time an occasion arises.”

In fact, this is the only poem of her that I know. I had to learn it in school… Time for doing more poetry reading, I guess…

>As pointed out in the program and we see in Iraq, technology can not by itself solve and win a gurilla war.

I don’t know. Maybe new technology for disseminating propaganda will help. Some sort of IPod Propaganda cast will win hearts and minds.
