I had a wrong opinion that the Indian Government Agencies in Foriegn countries might deliver prompt service. But my encounter with the Indian Consulate, Chicago shattered that. I’m also having a similar issue with Indian Consulate. There are very mean, especially the Passport section. I was just applying for an affidavit to get the passport for my kid. The website says the processing time is just 3-5 days. But I’m waiting for more than 2 months without any positive response. They wont take up the call most of the time or they will just cut short saying it will be sent soon. I’m clueless about what to do next. Can anyone let me know if there is any possibility to lodge a complaint againt the consulate? I’m ready to spend as much or go to any level to set this straight.

If you are working day and night on a SoCG submission, and having difficulty in compressing it to the required 10 pages, I am happy to announce that it is quite easy to generate a 8pt version of your paper (altough 4pt would be more useful for me). All you need is to put:
\documentclass[8pt]{extarticle}
in the top of your latex document. And viola… Here is how my submission looks like in 8pt, 10pt, 12pt, and 20pt. And here is the full-version in 12pt.
Now, in fact, SoCG allows to submit something equivalent to 10 pages in 10pt, so you can in reality submit something that is 13 pages using 12pt, which is much more readable.
There was a funny episode of South Park about Scientology (titled “Trapped in the Closet”). People that are interested surely could find it somewhere on the web. Here is also an interesting article about Scientology by Mark Ebner.
This is all giving me ideas about starting the cult of the coresets, you see.
1. Because He had only one major publication.
2. And it was in Hebrew.
3. And it had no references.
4. And it wasn’t published in a refereed journal.
5. And some even doubt He wrote it himself.
6. It may be true that He created the world but what has He published/done since ?
7. His cooperative efforts have been quite limited.
8. The scientific community has had a very rough time trying to repeat His results.
9. He never applied to the ethics board for permission to use human
subjects.
10. When one experiment went awry he tried to cover it by drowning his
subjects.
11. When subjects didn’t behave as predicted, he deleted them from the
sample.
12. He rarely came to class, just told students to read the book.
13. Some say he had his son teach the class.
14. He expelled his first two students for learning.
15. Although there were only 10 requirements, most of his students
failed his tests.
16. His office hours were infrequent and usually held on a mountain
top.
17. No record of working well with colleagues.
This is old but maybe you never saw it before…
Dear Computational Geometers,
The Web site for submissions to the ACM Symposium on Computational Geometry is now up, and can be accessed through the conference Web site at http://www.cs.arizona.edu/~socg06/.
This year we want people to submit an abstract by Nov 23, before the paper deadline of Dec 5. We will use these abstracts to assign papers to committee members, so that the committee members will have more time to read the papers. Please be aware that if you do NOT submit an abstract by Nov 23, there will be some delay in getting you paper to the committee.
Looking foward to seeing your recent work!

So, I am going to travel to India this winter break, being there for about a month. I am planning to visit, Bombay (Mumbai), Hyderabad, Bang lore, and Delhi (probably in this order). If you are in India (during this period) and want to meet, let me know. I am also planning to visit some universities, and give some talks, we shell see…
The real question is how many Pat Robertsons it takes to peel a banana?
