mesh on medial surface <fwd>

Dear all,

I just completed an algorithm which performs curvature-sensitive mesh 
generation on the medial surface of a solid object. Does anyone got some ideas 
about the application areas of the meshed medial surface? What I can think of 
are 3D mesh generation of the solid and detail suppression.
