CG Steering Committee election: CALL FOR VOTES

Dear CG Community,

Some time ago I sent out a Call for Nominations for the new Computational Geometry Steering Committee that has to be elected. I wish to thank all of you who responded to this call. Based on the nominations I received, I compiled the list of candidates for the election. It contains all those who were nominated more than once and who accepted the nomination. The list of candidates is as follows (in alphabetical order):

- Erik Demaine

- Jeff Erickson

- Dan Halperin

- Ferran Hurtado

- Marc van Kreveld

- Kurt Mehlhorn

- Joe Mitchell

- Janos Pach

- Günther Rote

- Diane Souvaine

We now get to the second stage of the election process: the actual voting. Every community member can vote for up to five candidates. This is done by sending an email to me (mdberg@win.tue.nl; replying to this message should also work) with subject heading “Re: CG Steering Committee election: Call for Votes” with the names of at most five candidates from the list above. The deadline for voting is Monday, August 14.

The five candidates with the most votes will then become the new Steering Committee. It will be up to them to select a Chair and otherwise organize themselves. The new Steering Committee will serve for three years.

So, please send me your votes by Monday, August 14.
