[Compgeom-announce] 16th Fall Workshop on Computational Geometry, Call for Papers

CALL FOR PAPERS.
16th Annual Fall Workshop on Computational Geometry
Nov 10-11, 2006 Smith College
URL: http://cs.smith.edu/~streinu/FwCG/

The aim of this workshop is to bring together students and researchers from academia and industry, to stimulate collaboration on problems of common interest arising in geometric computations. Topics to be covered include, but are not limited to:

	Algorithmic methods in geometry
	Animation of geometric algorithms
	Bio-geometry
	Combinatorial geometry
	Computer-aided design
	Computer graphics
	Computational topology
	Experimental studies of geometric algorithms
	Graph drawing
	Implementation issues for geometric algorithms
	Motion generation, folding and unfolding
and more ... (see the web site)

Following the tradition of the previous Fall Workshops on Computational Geometry, the format of the workshop will be informal, extending over two days (Friday-Saturday), with several breaks scheduled for discussions. This year we also plan to include a Poster session. In addition, there will be a special event, a 3D Printer Demo run by Joe O'Rourke, an open problems session and several invited talks. We are also experimenting with offering an optional, additional event on the third day (Sunday 12 November), by hosting a special Rigidity Theory Day.

Submission:

Authors are invited to submit abstracts for talks to be given at the workshop. Please send an abstract (up to 2 pages) and, if available, a draft of a paper. Because there are no formal proceedings for the workshop, submission of material submitted to a refereed conference is allowed and encouraged.

The 2-page abstract, describing the technical contributions of the paper, should be submitted by the deadline following the instructions posted on the Workshop's web site. In addition, and fully optional, the authors may submit a full paper, but not as a replacement for the 2-page abstract.

Important dates:

Submission Deadline: September 22
Announcement of accepted abstracts: October 6
Final Abstracts and pre-registration: October 27
