Sunway Hotel and Resort Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED: April 20, 2007
============================================================
Important Dates
--------------- April 20th, 2007: Deadline for draft paper submission. May 7th, 2007: Notification of Acceptance May 30th, 2007: Camera Ready Papers and Pre-registration. August 26 - 29, 2007: CGA'07 Workshop and ICCSA 2007 Workshop Description
-------------------- The Workshop, held for the SEVENTH Consecutive year in
conjunction with the International Conference on Computational Science and Its
Applications, is intended as an international forum for researchers in all
areas of computational geometry and related areas, with the goal of advancing
the state of research in computational geometry and related disciplines.
Submissions of papers presenting a high-quality original research are invited to
one of the two Workshop tracks:
- theoretical computational geometry
- applied computational geometry. This year focus is on Intelligent and Evolutionary Approaches
in Geometric Computations. Issues of numerical performance of geometric
algorithms and visualization are also of specific interest.
Tutorials and Discussion Session can be offered at the
workshop. If you wish to propose tutorial or discussion session, please send a
brief proposal to:
Topics of interest:
----------------------- - Design and analysis of geometric algorithms
- Animation of geometric algorithms - Intelligent and evolutionary geometric computing - Geometric algorithms in computer graphics - Voronoi Diagrams and generalizations - Geometric computations in parallel and distributed environments - Geometric data structures for mesh generation - Geometric algorithms in GIS - Computational methods in bioinformatics - Geometric applications in computational biology, physics, chemistry, geography, medicine, etc. - Visibility problems - Discrete and combinatorial geometry - Lower bounds - Interpolation and surface reconstruction - Geometric algorithms in Path planning and robotics - Numerical precision issues - Implementation issues and optimization - Computational geometry and biometric - Visualization of geometric algorithms Submissions in other related areas will also be considered. The design and implementation of geometric algorithms in
parallel and distributed environments, and applications in biology, biometrics,
physics, GIS and computer graphics are of special interest.
Proceedings
------------- Proceedings of the Workshop will be published in the
Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series (long papers)
and IEEE CS (short papers). The proceedings will also be available separately
for purchase from Springer-Verlag and IEEE CS.
Proceedings of the previous Workshops on Computational
Geometry and Applications appeared in LNCS vol. 2073, vol. 2329-2331, vol.
3044-3046, vol 3480 and vol. 3980.
Papers from the previous CGA Workshops have appeared in the
special issues of International Journal of Computational Geometry and
Applications, Journal of CAD/CAM, Journal of Computational Methods in Sciences
and Engineering (JCMSE) and the Journal of Supercomputing.
Future Special Issues in the above journals are being planned
for 2007/08.
Conference fees ---------------- For all details with respect to the conference fees please consult the ICCSA 2007 web page. Special discounts for students and session organizers is
available. For more information, please visit the ICCSA 2007 web
site.
Submission
----------- We invite you to submit a draft of the paper of up to 14 pages
(Letter or A4) paper formatted in LNCS Springer style OR draft of short paper up
to 9 pages formatted according to IEEE CS (two-column) style.
The submission must be camera-ready and formatted according to the rules of LNCS or IEEE. Electronic submissions in PS, PDF, or LaTex (please also submit all .eps, .dvi, and .ps files). MS Word submissions will also be accepted. Please submit your paper through the CyberChair electronic
submission system, available at
During Step 1 of the abstract submission you will be asked to
submit your abstract to the CyberChair: please don't forget to select CGA
workshop from the drop-down list of all workshops.
For additional references or enquiries, please send your e-mail directly to the Workshop Chair: Indicate in the header of the message "CGA'07".
For list or program committee members, previous events profiles, and other information please refer to CGA'07 web site. With kind regards,
