The department Information and Computing Sciences of Utrecht University is
looking for

Two Assistant Professors in Game and Media Technology

We search for assistant professors in computer science areas such as: geometric
modeling and reconstructions, computer graphics, multimodal interfaces,
geometric pattern recognition, computational geometry, multimedia retrieval, 3D
biometrics, game engines.

The positions consist of 50% research and 50% teaching. You are expected to
perform independent, original research at an internationally recognized level. You will teach courses in the master program Game and Media Technology, and in
the bachelor program Computer Science offered by the department. You are
expected to supervise master students and PhD students.

The positions are related to the education and research of the groups Multimedia & Geometry, and Games & Virtual Worlds, see http://www.cs.uu.nl/research/. We perform fundamental and application oriented research, with an emphasis on the algorithmic aspects. The large number of students, and high student appreciation
scores make the Master program Game & Media Technology very successful. The
department participates in the Center for Advanced Gaming and Simulation,

We ask
Candidates should have a PhD in computer science or related discipline.
Scientific creativity and productivity must be shown by publications in
international journals and conferences within the indicated areas. Candidates
preferably have teaching experience.

We offer
The position will first be for a period of maximum five years. After that,
extension is considered. The salary will be min. € 2,279.- and max. € 4,190.-
gross per month (scale 10/11) depending on qualifications and experience.
The salary is supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8%, and an end-of year bonus of 3% gross per year. In addition we offer: partially paid parental leave, subsidy for child care, flexible employment conditions in which you may trade salary for vacation days or vice versa. The employment conditions are based on
the Collective Employment Agreement of the Dutch Universities.
