[compgeom-announce] Frontiers of Algorithmics Workshop 2009
The Third International Frontiers of Algorithmics Workshop (FAW 2009) will
be held on June 20-23,2009, at Hefei University of Technology, Hefei,
Anhui, China.
The Workshop will provide a focused forum on current trends in research on
algorithmics, including discrete structures, and their applications, and
will bring together international experts at the research frontiers in
those areas to exchange ideas and to present significant new results.
The mission of the workshop is to stimulate the various fields for which
algorithmics can become a crucial enabler, and to strengthen the ties
between the Eastern and Western algorithmics research communities. While
the following topics are particularly solicited for the workshop,
interesting results in all areas of algorithmics are always welcome.
Program Topics:
Contributions solicited for FAW 2009 cover the topics including, but not
limited to:
- Approximation and online algorithms
- Bioinformatics and medical applications
- Computational statistics
- Discrete structures
- Experimental algorithmic methodologies
- Games and incentive analysis
- Geometric information processing and communication
- Graph algorithms
- Internet algorithms and protocols
- Large graph algorithms and social networks analysis
- Large scale data mining
- Large database natural language processing
- Multicore parallel algorithms
- Optimization algorithms in economic and operations Research
- Pattern recognition algorithms
- Parameterized algorithms, heuristics and analysis
- Trustworthy algorithms and trustworthy software
The proceedings of the Workshop will be published by Springer-Verlag in
the Lecture Notes in Computer Science. Selected papers will be invited for
consideration of publication in international journals.
