AUDIENCE:
The (Pre-)Doc-Course is organized as part of the
Berlin Research Training Group (Graduiertenkolleg)
"Methods for Discrete Structures".

It is addressed to graduate students and postdocs in
mathematics or computer science who are interested in
geometry, combinatorics and related fields. Students
preparing to enter a PhD program in Discrete Mathematics
or in Computer Science are also welcome.
FORMAT:
There will be three mini-courses of 3 weeks duration.
Each weak, there will be two days of lectures.
In addition, exercises will be solved in
small teams, with solution sessions.
The instruction language is English.
The course will take place at

* Freie Universität Berlin
PARTICIPATION/STIPEND:
Applications for the course, with a short curriculum vitae and
scientific background, should be sent by March 31, 2009, to

We can support a limited number of participants with an
amout of up to 1500 EUR. Applications for stipends, with
curriculum vitae, copies of certificates, diploma or master
thesis, areas of interest, and a letter of recommendation
should be sent by March 15, 2009, preferably by e-mail, to
